DUŠEnina — a cottage on Čeřínek
A personal website that has been growing for years. And it's managed by its owner alone.
Challenge
The cottage in the Vysočina highlands changes year after year — a renovation, the garden, a pond, new doors. All of that needed a home: not a folder of photos, but a place you can link to and come back to. A template site builder can't carry that. It can do a nice front page, but not an archive that grows by another story every year, and not a gallery that now holds a hundred photos. It's my own website — and the first one built on the platform.
Solution
A website built from blocks: a front page, a description of the cottage and its surroundings, a blog, a gallery and a contact page. Articles are tagged by topic, so the renovation, the garden and trips can each be filtered on their own. A chapter of its own is Pánská jízda, the yearly lads' trip — twenty trips since 2006 on a timeline, each with its own article and photos.
Result
Today the website holds 33 articles and about 95 photos. I add a new post myself in a few minutes, without calling anyone. And above all: the website didn't stop on launch day. That's exactly what you want from yours too — not a pretty business card that ages, but a place that grows with what you do.
Template and blocks used
Every new website will be different
The Pottage isn't a template where you just drop in a logo, colours and texts. The technical foundation may be shared. But the result always grows out of your story, your customers and what you want to tell people.
